Nuthall information & history

The village of Nuthall is situated west of the City of Nottingham on the busy Junction 26 of the M1 motorway. "Nuthall" is derived from the Saxon language and translates into "place of the Nuts".

In the "centre" of Nuthall you will find St. Patrick's Church, which boasts a 13th Century tower, and the neighbouring Georgian rectory. Close by is Nuthall Post Office and The Three Ponds Inn.

The Old Rectory was built in 1761 and dwelling houses were built close by through the 17 and 1800s. A row of terraced houses remain on Nottingham Road.

The Gatepier stands next to the forecourt of the Three Ponds Inn, one of the few remains of Nuthall Temple built in 1754 for Sir Charles.

If you can provide any pictures or information regarding Nuthall, it would be nice to hear from you so that we can update this part of the web site.
