Work is shortly to commence on the path at the Assarts Road entrance to the Country Park giving us a properly constructed, tarmac topped path which travels down the steep slope in a 'dog leg' fashion thus making the route onto the park much, much safer. This work has been made possible after a successful application to the Building Better Communities Scheme at Nottinghamshire County Council.
June is a key month for other applications for funding; we hope to hear on a bid to Waste Recycling Group (WREN) to refurbish the Temple Centre kitchen & toilets and also the Big Lottery Fund are expected to announce successful bids for Play Strategy funding, where we are in with a chance of £47,000 of additional play equipment at a cost to the Council of £4,000!
