Nuthall Parish Council's decision to proceed with its second Family Fun Day of 2015, despite inclement weather, was fully justified as revellers made the most of another fun-filled community event.
Co-ordinated by Parish Clerk Sue Stack and backed by council members the Family Fun Day took place at the Basil Russell Recreation Ground and was appreciated by the young and the young at heart.
A variety of stalls , arts and crafts sessions ,circus workshops, giant inflatables, Beat the Goalie soccer challenges,Limbo dancing and games with prizes were just a few of the attractions on offer.
Notts. Constabulary's "Police Wagon" with local officers giving advice and information proved popular, while children's entertainer Jolly Jingles with his mad- cap Punch and Judy show and Emma Beckham's song and dance and games sessions delighted excited youngsters.
Members of the 1st Nuthall Scout Group played an integral role by providing meals and refreshments during the afternoon.
Organiser Sue Stack was pleased with the outcome. " Early morning downpours put the event in doubt. But we decided to give it a go and despite chilly blustery winds we managed to provide an entertaining event for those who attended.
" Our next Family Fun Day is scheduled to take place on Sunday August 30th from 1.p.m"
