Committees and Working Groups

The following committees and working group memberships exist within Nuthall Parish Council


Committees are formal decision-making bodies established under standing orders, with membership restricted exclusively to elected parish councillors. They have delegated authority to make decisions in specific areas.


Working Groups are informal advisory bodies that can include both councillors and volunteer members of the public. They explore issues and make recommendations, but cannot make formal decisions on behalf of the council.

To consider matters related to the operation and delivery of parish council services.

To consider matters relating to the council's finances, including budget setting, precepts, spending priorities and financial governance.

Staffing Committee

To consider matters relating to staffing (HR) for the council, including pay, training, annual performance appraisal, working conditions, working environment, sickness, annual leave and performance management.

Cemetery Working Group

To attend to matters in or around Nuthall Cemetery, supporting maintenance and upkeep. To oversee issues relating to cemetery policies and matters arising around memorials, gravestones and other tributes.

Basil Russell Working Group

To attend to matters in or around Basil Russell Park, including pavilion, sports and leisure facilities and playground. To act as the link between the Paws in Park Community Café and sports groups with Nuthall Parish Council. To work with the clerk and council staff on the prioritisation and identification of issues of maintenance and upkeep on Basil Russell Park. To support the council in addressing issues of anti-social behaviour on the Park.

Assarts Park / Broxtowe Country Park Working Group

To support the council on activity to increase the amenity of land behind numbers 22-78 Assarts Road and 121-77 Harcourt Crescent to the city boundary (within Broxtowe Country Park). To oversee matters relating to the maintenance and upkeep of the above land. To address matters of anti-social behaviour and dog fouling on the land.

Events Working Group

To design and deliver a diverse range of community events suitable for all members of the community in or around Nuthall.
